Are you hosting a party soon? Our Event Coordinator, Kate, has years of experience planning parties of all sizes, even on short notice. She offers these great tips for planning the food you’ll need for a successful and stress-free party. The first step is to think about a few simple questions: How many guests are you inviting? Are they mostly men, women, or both? Will kids be included?
With these answers in mind, you can then choose the right food for your party. If you’re planning on just having light fare, mostly appetizers for instance, Kate recommends choosing 6-8 different kinds of appetizers or hors d’oeuvres per guest. You can plan on 2-4 pieces of each type per guest. If you are going to serve appetizers for about an hour before serving dinner, Kate suggests a variety of 4-6 types of appetizers and 2 pieces per guest.
When you’re planning your menu, we make it easy: our Take Home Catering Menu has everything you need. Kate likes the gourmet sandwich trays because there’s no reheating required, or consider an antipasto platter or an assortment of hot hors d’oeuvres. Everything that requires reheating comes with easy-to-follow instructions. If you’re planning a last-minute get-together, you can check out our specials in the prepared food case, or frozen items in the freezer case (pot pies are a popular option). For the best selection, please order early. We have many items available on short notice but, especially near holidays, orders are subject to availability. You can always contact our event planners at 215-862-9809 for planning help or to place an order.
